What it is
Ostrich Quill Grain is full-grain calfskin embossed with the raised quill pattern of ostrich hide. The calf substrate gives the surface a durability and consistency that suits daily wear, while the quill relief carries the visual language most associated with the Arabic sandal at its most formal.
The quill in the Gulf
No surface is more identified with the Gulf sandal than the ostrich quill. It reads at a distance, in the majlis and at occasion, as a mark of standing. VERANI renders it in calf deliberately: the pattern for the occasion, the substrate for the years.
A note on naming
The House names its materials exactly. Ostrich Quill Grain is a grain — a pattern in calf — and is named as such. Where a hide is genuine exotic, the House says so; where it is a grain, the word appears. Exactness is a construction standard.
How it ages
The raised quills burnish first, giving the surface a two-level depth over time — brighter relief over a darker ground.
